Jessica Wachter, originally from Bismarck, ND, currently resides in Fargo, ND. She is a graduate of Bismarck High School. Jessica graduated Magna Cum Laude from North Dakota State University with a B.S. degree in Art and a minor in Interior Design. Her mixed-media work combines printmaking, oil painting and photography.
According to Jessica, she draws inspiration for her artwork from past experiences and with it expresses a passion for life; affirming a spiritual truth she finds in nature and life itself. In her work, Jessica reveals her life and the lives around her. Her abstract expressionist style artwork is illuminating and evokes the power of interpretation. She likes the feeling of expressing herself through her work with abstract thoughts, but using concrete feelings. Jessica challenges the viewer to spend time with her work, to be drawn in, and to feel the overwhelming “Rhythm of Life” before them.
The artist has shown in numerous exhibitions including, the “Autumn Art Auction & Exhibit,” ND Museum of Art, Grand Forks, ND, “Big Art Show” FMVA, Heritage Hjemkomst Center, Moorhead, MN, “Tri-College Baccalareate Juried Exhibit,” Upfront Gallery, Fargo, ND, “Personal is Political,” NDSU Women’s Week Art Show, Reineke Gallery, Fargo, ND, and the “NDSU Juried Student Exhibit,” Memorial Union Art Gallery, Fargo, ND for which she received the People’s Choice Award as featured in the NDSU Magazine, Spring 2009.
