Is the BioLite CampStove 2 worth it?
For $150 I’m going to keep it for what it’s worth and use it a lot, but still love the emberlit for backpacking and making a decent size flame without a full out campfire. The biolite 2 is a great stove, just consider if it’s worth the cost to you as you’ll mostly use it for the tea pot to make coffee.

Can you burn charcoal in a BioLite stove?
Can I use charcoal in the BioLite CampStove 2, CookStove or BaseCamp? You can, techincally speaking, but we do not recommend it as an ideal fuel source. Charcoal will glow like embers but will not promote complete combustion and you’ll be left with a lot of leftover ash and mass at the end of your burn.

When shutting down, NEVER pour water directly into the body of the stove. If you want to expedite shutdown, put the fan on highest setting. Always extinguish embers with water and bury or dispose of safely.
