Why was the black hole removed from Alton Towers?
Its interior was redesigned, featuring a modified queue layout and station, which were restyled with a Jules Verne theme. In later years, the Black Hole became costly to maintain, and the park decided to close the attraction in 2005. The roller coaster track was dismantled and sold in 2007.

Whilst some parts of Alton Towers Resort are open for events all year around, the main Theme Park opening times define our peak season. Alton Towers closes at different times in different seasons, depending on the light and weather – but we always open for fun at 10am!
