What is meant by tashahhud?
The Tashahhud (التَّشَهُّدَ) is an arabic word which literally means ‘testimony’ or ‘witness’ and it is also known by another name called at-tahiyyat (التَّحِيَّاتُ) which literally means ‘greeting’ or ‘salutation’. It is recited when a person sits or kneels down during second rakah or last rakah of the prayer (salah).
Why do we say Attahiyat?
